Edmonton Scottish United SC employs a Canada Soccer and FIFA endorsed training model. Our Grassroots Program is balanced to allow players of all ability levels work with, and be challenged by, peers at similar developmental stages.

league1 alberta

Founded in 2023, the pro-am, standards-based senior league launched with five teams on both the men’s and women’s side, participating in an exhibition series.

Edmonton Scottish United SC is proud to be an inaugural licence holder for a League1 Alberta franchise and are excited to be introducing this pro-am opportunity into our youth club’s pathway.

As the top amateur youth club designation in the Canada Soccer Club Licensing Program, the National Youth Club Licence (NYCL) recognizes the highest achieving organizations, and rewards them with approved endorsement and associated MLS Home-Grown Player benefits. Holders of this designation display characteristics and demonstrate behaviours aligned with the most stringent expectations of governance, administration, infrastructure, and technical development while supporting Provincial and National Soccer Pathways.

Additionally, only clubs with this licence participate in the highest level of competition in Canada: the Canada Soccer Player Development Program (PDP). We are proud to be an inaugural recipient of Canada Soccer’s National Youth Club License. Questions about the PDP? Please contact Janine Helland.
