Edmonton Scottish United Soccer Club follows Canada Soccer's Pathway, which includes adherence to the Long-Term Player Development Model.

Led by our Grassroots Program Director and CSA 'A' License Holder David McCarthy, our program aligns with the Active Start and FUNdamental Best Practices outlined by Canada Soccer. Coach McCarthy leads our youngest players through developmentally-appropriate, fun and engaging activities and games designed to foster a love of sport, while improving fundamental movement skills.

Coach McCarthy also offers mentorship for interested parent-coaches; as a devoted Coach Educator and Master Facilitator for the Alberta Soccer Association, our grassroots volunteers are afforded incredible support and guidance as they look to grow as youth soccer coaches.

Sessions are held twice weekly at our home facility, the Edmonton Scottish Society; for U5-6 (aged 4-5) players, sessions are 45 minutes in duration, while U7-8 (aged 6 - 7) players will train for 60 minutes. Match-play is conducted in a Festival format, and Scottish United supplements these events with in-house and invitational festivals.
