In recognition of a pioneer in the Edmonton Scottish Society (ESS), and an outstanding contributor to the soccer landscape in Alberta. Hamish Black was instrumental in creating strong connections between our youth and ESS senior soccer pathways, and his family continue to foster his legacy of building community and friendships through a shared love of sport.
During his time as the leader of the Men’s Soccer Program, Hamish Black valued character, integrity, loyalty and service to the community above all else.
The purpose of the Hamish Black Memorial Scholarship is to provide a deserving applicant financial support for expenses incurred while a student-athlete at a post-secondary school. Like the Gaffer, the recipient of this financial support will demonstrate an ongoing commitment to improving the quality of life in the soccer community after the completion of their ESUSC career.
